Soup Bells

Soup Bells was a fun christmas project to understand more about ‘the internet of things’. We connected an octave of handbells to a web interface to allow visitors to record a christmas song and watch it being played back to themselves by a machine via a webcam.
The machine was made out of car parts and was powered with the open source electronics prototyping platform Arduino.
Here's a video explaining how it worked.
Activation was through twitter culminating in posts on bannerblog and a live airing from Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio.
This concept of this project was conceived and developed with Mat Denney at Soup. Mat and Pete Starkey, also at Soup, did the work that made this happen, I did the happen that made this work. Mat also made the video.
